Swindon

Introduction
The rail terminal at Swindon was part of a major logistics development carried out by Legal & General and comprising 4 large sites for major warehouse buildings. The planning consent included a requirement to construct a freight rail terminal on the site to service this new logistics development. Few of the tenants had a rail requirement at that stage and a considerate bond had been lodged to secure its future use.
Our brief was to generate rail use and as another client of ours Honda UK Ltd have their manufacturing plant adjacent to the site we approached the logistics team who commissioned us to look at adapting the terminal for automotive traffic.

The Project
Kilbride Rail Terminals Ltd took a 25 year lease from Legal & General and funded the construction works including new access roads and security gates between the Plant and the Rail Terminal.
Honda and their logistics subsidiary currently sub lease the site from Kilbride.
